Ludacris gives back in a BIG way

This is exactly what I talking about. When hip hop does good it warms my soul. Ludacris deserves BIG props for all that he does with his foundation. I like when he said "We're not giving hand downs we're giving hand ups'. You've got to love it.

Jadakiss: Thug it Out

Yo this was my shit when it came out! Jada hold ya head homie. I hope that case is b.s.

Brazil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beanie Sigel-In The Ghetto

HARD SHIT! Beanie Sigel at his BEST!! PHILLY STAND UP!!

Fresh Air in the Game

Hip hop has always been in my heart. From the days of Run-DMC to the Fat Boys all the way to the glory days of the 90s, I have been an uber fan. Back then rappers were able to be themselves and rap about whatever they wanted to. You could hear A Tribe Called Quest and The Geto Boys being spun on the same radio show AND you would be jamming to both tracks. There were no iPods...I had a Sony Walkman and a book bag full of tapes. People also used to be amped when we read the Source to find out what was dropping and when. Now that hiphop is so commercialized, creativity has seemed to take a backseat to "formual music". I classify formula music as rapper+gold chains+expensive car+big booties in the videos+guns=$$$$.

Creativity and being yourself has taken a nosedive. Please dont fret though, there are some people holding the fort down. However there are a few shining stars that are on the radar.

Right now Kid Cudi can do no wrong. Unless you live under a rock, you have heard Cudi's track "Day and Night". This is a rather dark and sparse song that made it's way to the mainstream audience with a bang. As soon as the beat drops my 3 your old starts singing the hook! Cudi's new track featuring Kanye West and Common, "Make Her Say", is also killing the radio. I really like his tracks "Daps and Pounds" and "Cleveland is the Reason". Dude is grinding and he is rolling with G.O.O.D Music so his creativity should be unbridled. Cudi is doing his own thing in his own lane and for him I think the best is yet to come. The Day and Night video was one of if not the freshest rap videos I have seen in a very very long time. Cudi has a huge following on the web and I believe the homie should be able to achieve commercial success as well.

If you are a fan of the site you also know that I am a big time Curren$y fan. Spitta has been in it for a minute and he has an extremely loyal fan base. He can rap over any beat and he is one of the hardest working dudes out here doing it. He was dropping mixtapes like girls be droppin' babies, like the late great O.D.B would say, back in '08 and he had the Internet was going nuts. I for one, was one of those people waiting for the next tape to hit datpiff. Spitta has that laid back flow and he raps about stuff he does which is what made me a fan. On one of his tracks he said how one of his first raps was pages "full of b.s. and lies/about me killin' people and flippin' pies/ but when I got by myself /I found myself /and realized that if I was a child in these times /I wouldn't want to follow in the steps of these guys..". How is that for keeping it real...Way realer than your average rapper/gangster/killer. Spitta cooled his guns with the mixtapes and focused on his magnum opus was the aptly title, This Aint no Mixtape. This album was a digital download release that saw rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Go to datpiff.com and get in touch with your inner chill by listening to some Spitta. Or better yet click the link and cop that album. F.S. Jets where haven't we been yet?

Click the list of Curren$y related topics to the right for videos and music!

These are just the first two that came to mind but more are soon to follow. Peace!

Fabolous ft Jay-Z-Money Goes, Honey Stays

Aint too much to say about this one other than....FIRE! Nice video dope song from two of BK's finest. Hov only handles the hook on this one but it is enough to be felt. I like this type of video..It has a plot and not just videos hoes shakin ass and showing titties. Smell me?

OJ Da Juiceman-Bouldercrest Shawty

Here is the latest mixtape from everybody's favorite Juiceman, OJ. This tape is full of OJ's trapping and snapping. Dope ass beats and d boy swag abound on this joint right here.

Papoose- I Just Want the Paper

HOT SHIT from Papoose Pa Poose...Great use of the Biggie sample from his song "Dead Wrong". I hope shit works out for Pap because dude is raw and has been on his grizzly for a while. After he blessed us with his verse from Busta Rhyme's "Touch It" remix, I thought we would see an lp. Well, I guess the industry somehow screwed him over because that has yet to be released. Doesnt matter though, Pap will come out on top, no doubt.

Gunnz Money&Family

Please come through and show some love to my peoples from the GMF crew. The crew consists of Wes Nile da Virus, Quan Pennz, Young Bris, and Raze'r. Heartbreak Drake 2

This guy right here has a buzz louder than a mofo. Drake has been bubbling on the underground for a minute and he is killing 'em on the mainstream now. With one single he has set the game ablaze.

Arsonal feat Mikee Mula-My Fight to the Throne

This is the boy Arsonal who is known for killin freestyles on worldstarhiphop. This shit right here is dope. It kind of reminds me of something Nas and AZ would have done back in the days.

Joey Jihad talks about his new mixtape

RediRoc of Ape Gang-In the Studio making Redi2Roc

Philly again, fam. Yo I cant front these are the hungriest rappers in the game. Almost everybody in Philly has that growl in their stomach that you can hear when they spit it. Real rap.

Ape Gang-Rapid Fire

Philly is killin' the scene right now harder than ever! Ape Gang brings that hard street music.

Malice(Of the Clipse)- Young Nigga this is You

I wish that more rappers would come out and put stuff like this out. These kids hear their music and try their best to emulate the artists. Its so much more to life that can make you rich other than trappin or rappin. Malice keeps 100 on this right here. No beat, straight raw, black & white.

French Montana Feat Jaddakiss-NY Minute

AWWWWWW MAN!!!!!!! NY MINUTE!!!!WHAT MORE CAN I SAY?????FRENCHY!!!!!!JADA!!!!!

Rah Digga Interview

One of the hardest spittin females ever. Rah Digga has resurfaced with a great interview. I wish she would get back in the booth immediately. Damn, here music was TIGHT!

Throwback Thursday M.O.P Edition

All my M.O.P fans need to buckle up for a trip down memory lane. By now heads know that they have a situation over at G-Unit. If something has changed hit me up and let me know.Hopefuly they can come back with some more joints because I am still very much a HUGE M.O.P fan. The videos I have posted are modern classics in my opinion. This music STILL knocks to this day.

Rick Ross feat Triple Cs and Magazine-Yacht Club (Remix)

"There's a partay/ goin on/ all the girls dem welcome to the yacht clubbbbbbbb". This is the shit! I love this song. The remix is even better than the original. Gunplay and Masspike Miles, Triple Cs, bring a lil extra flavor to the track. The eyecandy and scenery aint bad either.

Lil Ru'-Nasty Song

Here it is finally! This is the official video for Nasty Song. Lil Ru has been out here grinding for a long time and now that he is on Def Jam I think he is about to do big things. This is my favorite song from an artist from my home, SC! This song had big spins on our local radio when it was first released last year and Lil Ru has been grinding for a long time. Congratulations are in order for Lil Ru. Salute!

Max B interview from jail

FREE MAX B!!!!!

Reflection Eternal- Back Again

I am so happy to see this! Reflection Eternal, comprised of Brooklyn's own Talib Kweli and Cincinnati, Ohio native DJ Hi-Tek, combine to form one helluva duo. Talib's distinct flow and Hi-Tek's dope beats go together like ham and burger. Their first Effort, Train of Thought, is filled with enough dope to shut down cocaine in Colombia. I expect nothing less than a solid album on the next album, Revolutions Per Minute.

Gucci Mane feat Juelz Santana and Big Boi-She Gotta Friend

Gucci is one of those artists that has a humongous following. He has tons of mixtapes out at any given time and his loyal fans cop each and every one. This is gonna be a club banger right here.

Sosay-They Can't Fade Us & Love You feat Icealean

Sosay is on the rise and these two tracks prove that he is a force to be reckoned with. He takes you back to the essence of when hip hop was pure. Plies Performs at Hot 103 Summer Jam in Kansas City

Man, this cat had the crowd in a frenzy. Hate him or love him, Plies makes the crowd go dumb. I think you're just mad cuz he got plenty munnay!

Jeezy audio speaking on Gucci Mane

Bobby Ray Live @ Club Nokia in LABobby

Here is some video footage from a Bobby Ray show in LA at Club Nokia on June 13. This guy makes good music. He made the song on T.I.'s Paper Trail album, "On Top of the World". As a matter of fact it was Bobby's song and T.I. liked it so much they took it and flipped it. Hot music. Eff what you heard!

Jay-Z speaks on Soulja Boy

I think Hov mustve been listening to a conversation that I had with a friend the other day. People seem to forget that Soulja Boy is a kid and he makes music based on having fun. If he were to start talking about selling kilos of blow or killing people, he would be called a fake and his credibility would be shot all to hell. Ange Martinez seems like she wanted Jay to go in on Soulja because of a statement he made. Jay, being the guy that he is saw straight through that shit. Let that young man do his thing. I honestly think its a lot of hate being thrown his way.

Happy Father's Day

I want to send a big shout out to all the good fathers out there. I salute you for keeping it 200. On the flip side,I can't stand dead beat dads. I hate them worse than stubbing a toe or someone leaving an empty container in the fridge. You feel me? To all the dead beats out there, I have posted a song that should make you think and tug at your heartstrings some. This is the 1991 classic from Ed O.G. and the Bulldogs, Be a Father to Your Child. Remember that it is never too late to step your game up. Your child and the rest of society will thank you for it.

Smitty-Assume the Position

This is the new video from the kid Smitty. Smitty has done some ghostwriting for some of the heavyweights in the game and he had a single released a few years ago, Diamonds on My Neck. While Diamonds on My Neck made a little noise, I can see this song going much farther. This is a nice song and the lead video chick in it is so fly.

Yo Gotti- Cocaine Muzik 3

As if the part 2 wasn't still hot Yo Gott is blessing us with part 3 of his Cocaine Muzik mixtapes. This is more of the same from one of the realest in the game. Tennessee is home to some dope ass artists and Yo Gotti is one of those artist. Go ahead and cop this joint right here. Trap music fans gonna dig the hell outta this. Real rap. SLAUGHTER HOUSE 20 Minute freestyle

The title says it all!! Get Ready!

CurT@!n$ - Tomorrow (feat. Tyrese)

Very nice track from CurT@!n$ called Tomorrow. This is the type of music I like more than any, thought provoking. At one point this was a staple in hip hop but unfortunately it isn't anymore. That gives CurT@!n$ the upper hand in a game filled with sub par material.

Tru Life feat Keri Hilson- I Dont Need Love

PURE FIRE!! Man, its about time Tru blessed us with some news stuff. The beat is nice and Ms Keri does her thing on the hook.

50 Cent-War Angel LP

Brand new from 50 Cent we have the lead up to "Before I Self Destruct". Entitled "War Angel", this compilation reminds me a lot of the old 50. At the same time you can hear the new 50 in there too. My favorite track without a question is Cream 2009. Other standout songs are Talking in Codes and Redrum Murder. I'm very excited about the possibility of Before I Self Destruct being a gem from the G Unit leader.

Grafh freestyling on Drake's "Successful" beat- Drake speaks

Grafh goes all the way in over the beat from Drake's song "Successful". A REAL freestyle too. Man this dude needs to be on real soon. He has been doing it for a long time.

Video Provided by DatPiff.com

Jadakiss feat OJ Da Juiceman and Swizz Beatz- Who's Rea

This is a club banger right here. I can 't say that I saw this track coming because I couldn't see the OJ/Jada. However, with the crazy beat provided by none other than Swizz Beatz, this track knocks. The hook is crazy too!

Clipse feat Pharell-"I'm Good"

Man this song goes hard! Classic Neptunes beat+ Clipse on their usual= Some hot shit! The PERFECT song for summer.

Ali vegas feat Glenn Lewis- "The Block"

Here is a new song from Ali Vegas featuring Glenn Lewis entitled "the Block. As usual ALi Vegas brings it real crisp with his ridiculous flow while Mr. Lewis comes through and sews the track up with a nice hook.

Palm Pre Review

I have had my Palm Pre for about a week and to say that I love it would be an understatement.

Unless you live under a rock you have heard about Sprint struggling to hold on to customers as millions have been jumping ship. Also Palm, a company once at the top of the smartphone heap, has been losing money by the boatloads in a market that had no love for its tried and true Palm OS. It is t shared struggle that makes the marriage between phone and service so perfect between Sprint and Palm.

At the heart of the phone is the WebOS operating system. Multitasking is at the apex of WebOS and it works very well. On other phones to move between applications requires you to exit one application and move to the next. With the Palm Pre, you can have multiple applications running and easily switch between them. For instance I can have up the App catalog, my calendar, contacts, and text messages all at the same time.

The screen on the Pre is the best I have seen on a mobile phone to date. It has the same resolution as the iPhone's screen but in a slightly smaller area which really gives it a wow effect. The capacitive touchscreen, recognizes electric signals from your fingers, is dead on accurate.

The hardware feels really good in your hand and it it easily slips in your pocket. Palm likens it to a "polished riverstone". Unfortunately the phone is not as sturdy feeling as other smartphones. I would hate to drop it more so than other phones but I guess that's what cases are for.

I also love the keyboard on the phone. If you are like me you have to have a physical keyboard on your phone. Virtual keyboards simply don't make the grade. It is on the smaller side but I previously had a Palm Centro so the transition was seamless. The buttons have good travel and feedback as well so you know when you have entered a letter or symbol.

Also included in this little gem is a 3.0 megapixel camera with flash. It takes excellent pictures and closeups are stellar. Unfortunately, there is no video recording, however I have head that this will become available via a software update in the future. There is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can use standard headphones to listen to your mp3s or YouTube videos via the YouTube client included with the phone.

Data is handle via Sprint's exceptional evdo rev a network and wi-fi. The Evdo network has proven to be very fast in my area. So much so that it is sometimes faster than wi-fi. That can't be said for any other carriers that I have used.

The battery life is a subject that I wish I could skip because it is the hardest part for me to talk about. Simply put, it stinks. Even with wi-fi turned off, screen brightness at a minimum, location based services, instant messaging client turn off, and email pushing turned down to every 30 minutes the battery sucks. It's a must that I have my charger with me everywhere I go. Hopefully palm will address this with a not some distant future update.

This mini review is merely scratching the surface of this phone and its capabilities. I have attached a video review that I've found so that you can see what else there is to drool over about this phone. If you are a Sprint user that wants to do more than make or receive calls and texts, this is the phone for you.

Yo Gotti-Shoot Off

Str8 from Tennessee, Memphis to be exact, Yo Gotti keeps it way realer than most of these so called "Real N****s". Peep it.

Jay-Z- D.O.A (Death of Autotune)

About time someone addressed this issue. I hate that Autotune stuff. T Pain made it current after Roger Troutman and Stevie Wonder did it. It would have been cool if Pain rocked it exclusively but every Other rapper/singer wants to use it. Autotune is drippin' with wack juice.

Wale: Family Affair

Undeniably brilliant. If you aint up on Wale you are wack! Real hip hop.

?uestlove is salty @ Meth

I kinda feel him but I feel Meth at the same time. What do you think about this?

Petey Pablo: Same Eyez on Me

Here is Petey Pablo's unreleased Death Row effort. There are some hot tracks on here that could have made some noise. I'm not sure what happened with the situation over at the Row but the music was pretty good for the most part.

Rihanna nude photos:**Must be 18 to view**

Well, well, well if these are actually photos of Rihanna, she has just joined the club of celebs who take it off.

Page feat Drake:"I'm Still Fly"

Blake is smokin' right now. Never heard of Page but when I saw Drake I decided to take a peep. From what I get from the song Page is a street dude from Toronto. The song is pretty cool. Check it out.

Lil Kim feat Charlie Wilson and TPain: "Download"

Lil Kim is back with the radio banger "Download". I promise you, the Computer Love beat has been used numerous times and it never gets old.

Another L for Yung Berg

Man, Yung Berg stay taking L's. He did a mixtape with DJ Quote and didn't pay this man. Quote even puts Bergs cell number up! Damn!

Murs: The Science

Murs is my dude. He is one of the dopest emcees out. If you dont know, now you know. Get familiar. My favorite work from him is on his cd entitled "Murs 3:16 the 9th Edition". Murs goes in on a wide range of topics and he slaughters every beat. The top-notch production on the cd is handled exclusively by producer 9th Wonder of Little Brother fame. Do yourself a favor and get familiar.

Gucci Mane:Free At Last Mixtape

GUCCI! The south's favorite underground trapper!

What is wrong with this video?

This is just wrong on so many levels. How could this make the news?

Rick Ross' Album Release

Here is a quick, meaningless, video of Ross performing Magnificent at his album release party.

Dame Dash wildin' on Def Jam staffers

Man, what in the hell is this...? There is no way in hell I could have sat in this meeting and allowed this guy to curse me out like he was doing. This is totally incomprehensible. Just watch what goes on. Why was a camera in the meeting anyway? Maybe this is routine but I doubt it. As a matter of fact, I think one of the people that came in later asked about the camera.

Max B--Buggin' out!!!

Max B is straight getting at Jim Jones' girl. This is so bugged out.Owwww!

Young Dro

"Dro/I'm clean in this bi+ch" was my introduction to Young Dro. I actually think Dro is a great lyricist but do to his subject matter it goes unnoticed. Who else could come up with "suicide doors/ brown Rover look like pork n beans"? This tape is full of swagged out jams perfect for a ride to the club or when your just chillin'.

Rick Ross-In Cold Blood

Slaughterhouse Webisode pt.1

These guys are dope. Point blank period. I wish more "super" groups could be formed but it just ain't feasible. If you aren't familiar with Slaughterhouse, it consists of Joe Budden, Royce da 5'9", Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I. That's so unfair!

Curren$y the "Hot Spitta" interview with 2-cent.com

Here is Curren$y's interview with 2-cent.com. His album, "This Aint no Mixtape" will be dropping on 4/21. I have been waiting on this album for a long time and I can't wait to cop. I think it is a digital only album. Don't quote me on that one though. Since I heard him I've been a fan. More artists need to take the independent route and put their own stuff out. You have 100 percent control of every aspect of your project and you eat more of of sales of the album

Rick Ross interviewed by DJ Envy

Here is an audio interview of Rick Ross by DJ Envy. I wish the back and forth will stop before it turns into something else. We don't need any more Pac and Big action poppin' off.Ross says that he, "never squash beef". Ross can you please make this one exception? Keep making hits, g!
